Travelog : Perth, Australia – Day 3 & 4

On the third day, I woke up with excitement surging through my body. Today, I will be going to Adventure World. Adventure World is a Theme Park + Water Park located in the heart of Perth. I couldn’t wait to go there! This would be the first time I’m tall enough to ride tall roller coasters and other exciting stuff! Not just the baby crap I used to ride.

It took a 30 minute drive to go the theme park. When we were there I was so excited I could feel the energy sizzling right down through my fingers. Once inside, we found a shady place to settle down our things. First of all, I rode the Abyss, which is like the most attractive attraction in the park. The Abyss is a roller coaster. The most extreme one in the park. It is also the only ride where your tummy goes all funny at every drop. You’d feel like you left your tummy behind! It was the first time ever I rode on a very scary ride!

Next, my siblings and I went to change to our swim suits so we can ride on the water slides. The first one we rode was The Kraken. It was a 4 person ride that takes you down a tunnel as long as ever until we drop down into a funnel shape opening where we get splashed, sprayed and prickled with a lot of icy freezing water just before it ends in a pool of even more freezing water! I bet they put ice in the pool! I rode the Kraken 3 times.

We also rode the usual speed slides. It’s where you have to race against others on a mat slide. As usual, the heaviest person will win. So if you usually win first on those slides, you may need to adjust your diet. After riding a few more water slides we dried off and changed our clothes. After stepping into comfortable, dry clothes, it’s time we went to the dry rides!

My and my mom rode on The Rampage. It’s this awesome ride where you spin 360 degrees high up in the air. After the ride ended many people puked outside the ride. It was not a pretty scene. After that we all rode on The Black Widow. It’s similar to the Rampage but you sin a lot more on this one. And the seats are only for two people for each section. Meanwhile The Rampage lets you sit altogether in two long rows.

Just as we were heading home, we spotted a go-kart race track. It was 20 minutes before closing time so we had to give it a go! The truth is, we had to wait forever to get our turn and we were one of the last few people who exited the park.

On the go-kart track, just before finishing, I forgot about the brakes and thought that the karts will turn off by themselves, but I didn’t know so I bumped into the kart in front of me. The lady operating the ride said I could have really injured the girl in front of me. I was so terribly scared! Luckily we went home so I can forget it and have a good sleep.

Day 4

New day, new energy, new things to see! Today we will be going around Perth with my uncle and aunt. They’ve been living in Perth for years already so they know the twists and turns around each corner.

We arrived at their house around 10 o’ clock. We had some snacks and looked around the house for a while before taking off to see the city. Their house was, honestly very, very, very awesome. It had a pool, a fish pond, a water fountain and lots of sweet smelling trees. I brought back some lavender leaves to Malaysia because I couldn’t stand leaving the scent behind.

We left around 11:30 to a place called Raeburn Orchards. It was a very, very big fruit orchards. We can’t actually pick the fruits in the orchards, but we can take a stroll and take pictures of it. There’s a shop at the front that sells freshly picked fruits from the orchards. We could even taste them before we buy them. There’s a tasting area near the front door. We bought plums, nectarines, prunes and peaches. The fruit there was so fresh that my mum bought them a second time.

After that, we went to a souvenir shopping place called Aussin in Fremantle. My aunt used to work there when she was in university. The shop sold plenty, and we bought plenty too. It was a good thing the shopkeeper was very generous so she gave us a lot of discounts. I bought some things for my friends and so did my sister. The items had very suprisingly good quality with a unimaginably reasonable price!

We left Aussin to visit West Australia University. My aunt used to go there so she knew about all the beautiful places around there. She also used to be a part time tourist guide at the university. She introduced to the guests about the places around the U. So that means she would do a very good job at showing us the university. She showed us to a 100 + year old tree that still stands strong on the school grounds. She also showed us to a peaceful, shady part of the park where she used to go to. The university’s architecture was also very dazzling. It was somehow like Oxford or Cambridge University. We sat by the shimmering duck pond until it was time to go home.
