I won the contest because of this script

I have won the storytelling contest at my school, this is the script I used to win the contest. I made the script myself for many days and it was changed many times. My dad helped me too.

Narrator :  Once upon a time there was a town called Hamelin. Hamelin was very peaceful, one day the whole town was attacked. Do you know who attacked the town ?!  RATS!, They fought the dogs and bit the cats. They were everywhere, up there, down there and even under your chair. They were big, thin, small and fat. One day the townsfolks were fed up of the rats so they went to see  the mayor. The mayor was also fed up so he announced that whoever would get rid of the rats they would get 5000 gold coins. Soon the news was heard by a young man called the pied piper. When he heard the news he went to see the mayor.

Pied piper: Mayor, is it true that if I get rid of all these rats, you will give me 5000 gold coins.

Mayor: Yes young chap I promise.

Narrator: So the pied piper went into the streets and he blew his trumpet and all the rats went rushing to the piper. He led all of the rats to a nearby stream and all the rats. The rats jumped into the stream and that was the end of the rats. When the pied piper got back, the mayor only gave him 300 gold coins. The pied piper refuses to take the money.

Pied piper: Where is the 5000 gold coins?

Mayor: I do not have money to pay you.

Narrator: The pied piper was so angry, he was going to make the mayor feel sorry. He went back into the streets and played his trumpet. This time the children went to the pied piper. he led them to a hill and went through a door. When all the children were inside the door he shut it tight.

The moral to this story is never to be greedy and not to brake promises. Thank you.
