Sugar is a carbohydrate. It gives us energy. There is sugar inside most drinks. Some drinks have a small amount but some have a lot. We can use sugar in our food and drinks but too much sugar would cause a problem.
Drinks with lots of sugar could be a problem to your teeth. You could even get diseases like obese and diabetes. Sugar often has lots of fat it them.
Sugar can also be useful. It makes canned fruits and jam last longer. Sugar can make food look good and taste good.
