My Top 3 European Destinations: A Personal Countdown

Having traveled to nine incredible countries across Europe, picking just three favorites is no easy task. From the charming streets of Paris to the sunlit beaches of Spain, every place holds a special memory. But some destinations just stole my heart in ways that make them stand out. Here’s my top 3 countdown, from stunning landscapes to the best hidden gems!

Number 3: Switzerland

Switzerland is simply spectacular. There’s no other way to describe it. I visited in the summer, and it was as if every corner of the country came straight out of a postcard. The towering Alps, sparkling lakes, and quaint little villages made me feel like I was living in a fairytale. And let’s not even get started on the nature! The air was crisp, fresh, and oh-so-refreshing—a welcome escape from the bustle of city life.

Whether you’re wandering through the vibrant cities like Zurich and Geneva or exploring the serene trails around Lake Lucerne, Switzerland delivers that perfect blend of nature and charm. The best part? It’s beautiful all year round. I’d love to visit again in the winter to experience the snow-covered mountains and cozy up in a chalet with a hot drink in hand. I can already picture myself gliding down the ski slopes or taking a scenic train ride through the frosty landscapes. Switzerland, I’ll definitely be back!

Number 2: Türkiye

Oh, Türkiye, where do I even start? This country is a cultural and historical treasure. Every city has a unique vibe, yet they all exude the same warm hospitality. Istanbul, with its rich history, bustling bazaars, and stunning mosques, feels like walking through a living museum. Then you have places like Cappadocia, with its surreal landscapes and hot air balloon rides—it’s magical in every sense.

Let’s talk about the shopping. Türkiye is an absolute shopping heaven! From vibrant bazaars filled with spices, textiles, and souvenirs to chic boutiques in trendy neighborhoods, you can find everything here. And as a Muslim traveler, one of the best things is how easy it is to find halal food. Everywhere you go, there are delicious kebabs, mezze platters, and baklava—so much baklava! It was amazing to explore multiple cities, each with its distinct personality. Whether it’s the coastal beauty of Antalya, the historical depths of Ephesus, or the mystical vibes of Pamukkale, Türkiye offers an endless array of experiences.

Number 1: The UK

Okay, I might be biased here since I grew up in the UK, but it holds a special place in my heart. The UK isn’t just a country; it’s a feeling. Having had more time to explore every nook and cranny, I’ve uncovered so many hidden gems. It’s not just about London (though I could talk for days about how much I adore the city); it’s the cozy little villages, the cobblestone streets, the rolling hills of the countryside, and the crisp sea breeze along the coastlines.

The ambiance of the UK is unmatched—there’s this quaintness and elegance, mixed with a vibrant cultural scene. And the manners of the people? Truly something else. Everyone’s so well-mannered and polite, and that adds to the whole experience of traveling around the country. Plus, finding halal food is a breeze, from trendy London eateries to charming cafés in smaller towns.

London is my ultimate dream—there’s just something magical about its bustling streets, iconic landmarks, and the diversity that makes every corner of the city feel like a new adventure. One of my dreams is to live in London someday (hopefully!). It has everything: history, culture, convenience, and an ever-changing skyline that feels alive and electric.

Traveling through these countries has been such a joy, each offering something unique and memorable. From the natural wonders of Switzerland to the cultural richness of Türkiye, and, of course, the charm of the UK—I can’t wait for more adventures in the future!
