How We Experienced Cameron Highlands in 3 Days

In December last year, we went to Cameron Highlands as a quick getaway. So I thought of sharing our trip here since this trip was planned in the last minute but eventually, it was great! The temperature when we went was around 20 degress, so it wasn’t too cold. Here’s how it went;

DAY 1

We woke up early because Cameron Highlands is around 4 or 5 hours from our place. So we headed straight there after breakfast. The ride was smooth until we reached the twirling roads to go up the ‘highlands’. The hill was so high up until we went into the clouds. When we arrived at our hotel, Century Pines Resort, we checked in and went to our room. I gotta say that our room was pretty impressive because the room had two floors and a pretty cool staircase connecting the two floors. We rested for a bit and then went downstairs to the lobby to explore the area. The lobby had a snooker table and a fuse ball table which was pretty much always unoccupied. So those things looked like they were ours the whole stay since we never got off the fuse ball table hahah. After that, we went to a restaurant to have an early dinner. A quick tip, it is very hard to find good restaurants in Cameron so I suggest that you search for one in TripAdvisor or other apps for restaurants with good reviews.

DAY 2

We had a big day ahead of us so we made sure everyone had a good tuck in at the hotel breakfast. The menu was good with a local and continental cuisine. After filling up, we headed straight for the tea plantation which is a must see in Cameron Highlands. We wen to the BOH Tea Plantation. There, we went to the top of the observation area to take pictures. The scenery was soooo good. Imagine sitting around rows of tea plants! After that, we went down to the tea shop to experience freshly brewed tea. It tasted unique even though it’s the same as the ones at home. after that we were showed around the tea leaf factory. We saw the whole process from sorting the leaves until packaging them into teabags. It was a wonderful educational experience too!

After that, we headed down to the Bee Farm. Unfortunately for us, it wasn’t the season to go and visit bee hives, so we just took pictures of the flowers surrounding the farm. We also bought a few bottles of honey to bring home. There were all sorts of honey and a variety of bottle sizes to choose from. Then, we made our way to the most important attraction in Cameron Highlands, the Strawberry Farm. We went to the Big Red Strawberry Farm because there so many farms but this one had the best reviews. We parked our car and made our way up the steps. Firstly, we went into the picking area. There, we would pick as many strawberries as long as it fits into the bucket provided. After that, we went to the cafe to enjoy strawberry-themed meals. We got several strawberry waffles and ice-cream sundaes. After a long tiring day, we went back to the hotel to sleep.

DAY 3

This was the last day to go sightseeing since the next day, we would be heading home. We went to this park called MARDI Agro-culture Park. Our target was to stay here till noon because this place is hugeee. This place is nature-themed so there were a lot of places to take pictures in. This place is divided into several farms such as strawberry farm, rose farm, veggie farm and many more. We went to all the farms and learned a lot about all the plants there. The best part of the farm was there was a petting zoo where you could touch rabbits, chickens and other small animals. Plus, we could feed them with some pet food that we could buy on the spot. The animals were so cute!!!! After finally trekking every part of this park, we went home to our hotel and had a rest. Then, we went home the next day. It was a memorable experience!
