This was my first day at school in Cardiff. This was when I was 5 years old in 2010. We just came to Cardiff and we didn’t have any old uniform so we had to go and buy them. It was fun buying the uniform and stuff. But when it comes to going to the school, I get nervous.
When I came to the school, I didn’t know how I should feel. I felt a bit scared because I didn’t know anyone, I’m afraid there might be bullies. I felt a bit curious too. I didn’t know what to do. I just followed what the other kids did. I also felt a bit left out because the other kids were having fun, talking to each other and messing about.
The teachers were very nice. They introduced me to the other kids. When I was crying a teacher brought me to play with another new kid. She wasn’t crying but she was shy. She didn’t talk much. Then the teacher gave me some water when I stopped crying. The dinner ladies were nice too. They brought us to the canteen.
The kids were alright too. Some didn’t want to be my friend because they have a group of friends already. Some kids wanted to be my friend though. I guess it’s because they don’t have groups.
This is all about my first day at school. After all, I think the first day wasn’t as bad as I’d imagined.
