I had a trip to Istanbul, Turkey. It was very fun. Below this paragraph, I will tell you about Hagia Sofia & Sultanahmed Mosque. The architecture is very beautiful. These buildings are just infront of each other.
HAGIA SOFIA
It was built by Emperor Costantius the second. Then it was given to Emperor Theodosius the second. Then he gave it to Emperor Justinian. He owned it until The Ottomans took over Constantinople and owned Hagia Sofia. It was the time of Sultan Mehmet the second. In 1935 the First president of Turkey, Mustafa Kemal Ataturk transformed it into a museum. The carpets were taken off marble floor for the first time.
SULTANAHMED MOSQUE ( Blue Mosque )
History: Sultan Ahmed I decided to build a huge mosque in Istanbul. It was said that when Sultan Ahmet I was only 19 years old. The mosque is called the Blue Mosque because of its blue tiles in its interiors. Nowadys the mosque gathers more then a million people at its place. The mosque has a beautiful garden.
These places are very old and valuable. There are more places that I will tell you about in Part 2.
