What I think about the most recent Harry Potter book : The Cursed Child

A few years ago we thought the story of The Boy Who Lived was over. But in 2016, JK Rowling released a play script, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, which shook the world. The limited hardcover edition was sold within months! Luckily I managed to buy one myself! The book is quite bigger than the standard novel size and the illustrations and details on the cover makes it look highly exquisite.

With that being said, we would expect the story to be fantastically dramatic. Well, it is, I guess. In the older books, JK Rowling emphasises on themes such as love and family. As an example, how Lily’s love saved Harry from the death curse, and how Snape’s love for Lily made him sacrifice himself for Harry, even if he was the son of Lily and another man. In this most recent book, Rowling also focuses on the similar message, about family and love. The plot revolves mainly around the relationship between Harry and his son Albus. Its kind of expected for Rowling to focus on this certain topic for this newest book, but it doesn’t make the book any less interesting, as expected that from the great JK Rowling!

Nineteen years is a long time, and we can’t expect what kind of amazing events would happen between these times. The recent story carries us through the characters adulthood, which to me is super cool because we’ve watched Harry, Hermione, Ron, Ginny and even Draco grow up throught the previous books. Now, they all have their own careers, some which we wouldn’t have expected based on the previous books. Overall, I think the way this book brings out the characters current life is simply amazing! There’s more to these characters than just a few parents dropping off their children at the Hogwarts Express.

I really don’t want to give out too much about this book as some people might not have read it already. As a whole, I think this book is really a must-read. People have been saying that this book doesn’t have anything to do with the previous books, but lemme tell you that the plot has a BIG co-relation with the preivious books! You will never expect what’s going to happen next. If you are a potter fan and haven’t read this book yet, YOU MUST!
